UNLV Moves Down 6 Spots to #24 in AP Poll: Nov 26th, 2012

Georgetown, who cracks the AP Top 25 at #20 this week, leads four newcomers to the poll. UNLV was penalized the most for its play this week, falling six spots to #24.

Indiana hangs on to number one for the third week in a row. Georgetown breaks into the Top 25 with an upset win on the road over then-11th ranked UCLA, 78-70, an overtime loss on the road to 1st ranked Indiana, 82-72, and a win at home over Mount St. Mary's, 72-50. Minnesota comes in at #21 with wins against Stanford, 66-63 and then-19th ranked Memphis, 84-75 and a loss to then-5th ranked Duke, 89-71. Illinois shows up at #22 with wins against Gardner-Webb, 63-62, Butler, 78-61, and Chaminade, 84-61. New Mexico also enters the Top 25 at #25. UCLA falls out of the rankings this week with an upset loss on the road to Georgetown, a win on the road over Georgia, 60-56, and an upset loss at home to Cal Poly, 70-68. Memphis drops out after a win against Northern Iowa, 52-47 and losses to Minnesota and Virginia Commonwealth, 78-65. Connecticut drops out after a win against Stony Brook, 73-62 and a loss to New Mexico, 66-60. Baylor also drops out this week.

UNLV is a big mover this week, tumbling six places to #24, following an upset loss at home to Oregon, 83-79 and a win on the road over Iowa State, 82-70. Gonzaga shot up five spots to #12 after wins against Davidson, 81-67, Oklahoma, 72-47, and Clemson, 57-49.
